Thanks, Maryann! I'd love to be one that text list after the race...810-357-5888. I'm also planning on posting those big red numbers on the daily log for you while you're computerless, as long as that's okay with you!

That's my daughter Jessica. She earned that medal last September, and still wears it around the house sometimes! She may do a 1/2 mile trot this Saturday at the 5K I'm doing. I'll be sure to post pics if she does.

    Hi Maryann,

Michigan it is, a couple of hours north of the Ohio border. I'm so happy to have found this group...everyone seems so nice, and talk about motivating!! You're all making me want to do a full marathon when I haven't even done my first half yet. Pretty sure I'm an easy hook!

    Hi Maryam,

I'm a reporter and journalism graduate student from Columbia University, and I'm writing an article about marathons - and particularly about people who like to walk them. I saw your post, and I would love to set up a quick 10 minute phone interview about your interest in marathons. Please let me know if you - or any of your friends would be interested as well!

Thanks and I really look forward to hearing from you.

Before I agree to an interview, I would like to know where it would be published, if it were to be published. I have had offers like this before, and they were usually bogus, if you will forgive my bluntness. Please send me an off-group email to mr.arto@sbcglobal.net , and after I speak to you, I will make up my mind.
Thanks for your interest and please forgive my skepticism.

    Maryann,

Thanks for your message. I am so sorry I have not been keeping up to date on the message board. My surgery went very well and I have been walking fairly consistently. I have lost about 45lbs. so far, but have started to level off and I'm trying not to be discouraged. Old habits (eating wise) are hard to break, so I'm struggling there but the walking and the exercise have been really good for me.

I hope you are doing well. Thanks so much for the message!

    Best Regards,

    Bob
